The Spartans have shown a lot of interest in the Texas pipeline the past few years and this player is another promising prospect out of Texas. Michigan State offered 4-star strong-side defensive end Ashton Porter Wednesday night.
Porter, who is 6’3″ and 225-pounds, attends Cy Ranch High School in his hometown of Cypress, Texas. He is the No. 23 strong-side defensive end and No. 21 player in the state of Texas for the class of 2023 on 247sports. He is also the No. 178 player in the nation for the class of 2023.
Porter has been offered by four schools so far including Arizona State, Colorado, SMU and Texas.
Porter showed significant strength and power of the edge being able to easily move his opponents out of the way to get to the backfield. Porter is also on the track team and his speed shows on the field as he uses agile moves to get by the offensive lineman. Porter will be a guy you should keep your eyes on as he looks to have a bright future.
