The Texas Longhorns baseball team (27-8) came into their two-game series against the Nevada Wolfpack riding an eight game winning streak. All eyes were on Ivan Melendez who was chasing history in an attempt to break the record for the most consecutive games with a home run.

Unfortunately, Melendez’s record attempt was halted at six games, but the Longhorns were able to extend their winning streak to 10 as they defeated Nevada in both games.

Unlike the last couple of series for Texas, Nevada played the Longhorns close in every game. Despite the close calls, Texas’ winning streak stays alive.

Next, the Longhorns will be looking to avenge Texas basketball’s first round knockout as they’ll host a three-game series vs. the Abilene Christian Wildcats starting on Friday. All three games can be seen on the Longhorns Network.

Here’s a recap of the two games against Nevada.
