Indianapolis Colts owner and CEO Jim Irsay told the media Wednesday that even though defensive end Justin Houston is taking visits on the free-agent market, the team is still in play to re-sign him.
Houston is visiting the Baltimore Ravens on Wednesday for his first reported visit of the offseason since the new league year began. But with a massive need at defensive end, the Colts aren’t ruling out a reunion with Houston.
Irsay on DE: "Justin (Houston) could come back, there's some other options in free agency and the draft."

After recording 19.0 sacks over two seasons with the Colts, Houston was a solid starter. However, his 2020 season showed much more inconsistencies as a pass rusher.
The Colts couldn’t bring in one of the big edge rushers during the early part of free agency. They will have a chance to draft one but with a weaker class than normal, it isn’t clear what type of edge rusher they will walk away with. We detailed some options in each round anyway.
While Houston may not elevate the unit all that much if he’s re-signed, this will be something to keep an eye on leading up to the draft.
