Another mock draft, another time the Vikings were tabbed to pick an offensive lineman.
In his recent mock draft, ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. tabbed Minnesota to take Virginia Tech OL Christian Darrisaw at No. 14. Here’s what he wrote about the pick:
“That’s four mock drafts for the 2021 class for me, and four offensive linemen to Minnesota in the first round. It’s a glaring hole on this roster. Darrisaw was outstanding at left tackle for the Hokies last season; our Stats & Info team tracked him at 264 total pass-block plays, and he allowed just three pressures and one sack. Put him at left tackle on day one for the Vikings.”
It makes sense for Kiper to go with an offensive lineman yet again. The Vikings are a team with at least one opening on the offensive line right now. If Mason Cole isn’t the answer to a starting guard spot, the team might even have two openings.
