Boston Celtics beat up on Nuggets 105 – 87 on road, snap Denver’s 8-game streak

One of Boston’s better second halves in a long while helped the team steal a game against Denver Sunday afternoon.

While the game looked like it was going to follow a familiar script early on, the Boston Celtics would find their defensive chops in the second half to hang on and defeat the Denver Nuggets 105 – 87 on the road.

In a departure from the more traditional defense the Celtics have leaned on most of this season, a change to a switchier approach with plenty of help off the bench from Grant Williams and Romeo Langford helped Boston win its third game in a row. A 31 – 3 run helped the team to improve to 28 and 26 on the season, snapping the NBA’s longest winning streak for the Nuggets at eight games.

Following up his historic, 53-point performance against the Minnesota Timberwolves by leading all scorers for the second straight game, All-NBA forward Jayson Tatum scored 28 and 10 rebounds.
