The Boston Celtics will likely have both of their All-Star wings available to them as they face the Denver Nuggets on the road on the first game of a short West Coast road trip, according to team Head Coach Brad Stevens.
Both Jaylen Brown (left knee soreness) and Jayson Tatum (non-COVID illness) had been listed as questionable on the Celtics’ injury report the evening prior to the game, the latter after his historic 53-point performance against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday night. Speaking to the media ahead of the tilt with the Nuggets, Stevens shared the two are “both likely available” without further comment.
Should both be able to suit up and play well, it transforms the contest from a scheduled loss to something more competitive, depending on which version of the team shows up.

Boston has shown a propensity of playing down to lesser opponents, but also up to the league’s best teams.
And with the NBA’s longest winning streak at eight games running, few clubs make for a better example of such a team than Denver, so with some luck we see the Celtics step up to the challenge.
And perhaps even snap that streak.
