Due to concerns about COVID within the Notre Dame softball team, the Irish will not participate in their scheduled games against Clemson and Loyola-Chicago this weekend.
The following statement is from the Notre Dame athletic department in regards to the cancelations:
NOTRE DAME, Ind. — The University of Notre Dame softball team will not play the coming week’s scheduled games vs. Clemson and Loyola University Chicago.
The decision was made out of an abundance of caution following positive tests, subsequent quarantining and contact tracing within the Notre Dame team. The program is adhering to the outlined protocols within the ACC Medical Advisory Group report, which is available on theACC.com (full report).
