In Boston, the Celtics edged New York, 101-99, at TD Garden.
Former Volunteer Grant Williams played 25 minutes. He was held scoreless by the Knicks (25-27).
Williams had three rebounds, one assist and one steal for the Celtics (26-26).
The former Vol was 0-for-3 from the field and missed two 3-point shots.
Meanwhile in Houston, Dallas dropped a 102-93 decision to the Rockets at Toyota Center.
Josh Richardson went 0-for-9 from the field and 0-for-6 from beyond the 3-point arc. His only point against the Rockets (14-37) came from the free throw line, where he was 1-for-2.
Richardson finished the game with four assists, three rebounds and one steal for the Mavericks (28-22).
