With news of Barry Alvarez’s retirement becoming official yesterday, the Wisconsin legend’s last day as AD will come on June 30.
UW-Madison has put together a search committee to find the next leader of the athletic department. In a press release yesterday, Wisconsin Chancellor Rebecca Blank mentioned values she is looking for from the successor to Alvarez:
“The search process will prioritize finding a new AD who embraces the university’s commitment to student-athlete well-being and success, on and off the field excellence, and our institution’s values on diversity and inclusion,” said UW-Madison Chancellor Rebecca Blank in a press release. “Barry’s successor should be able to continue his legacy of success and make our alumni and fans across the state proud.”
The search committee for Wisconsin’s next AD will include head football coach Paul Chryst, assistant basketball coach Alando Tucker, and softball coach Yvette Healy among others in the athletic department.
