The No. 12 Florida Gators (18-9, 5-4 SEC) are coming off a big weekend series win over the then-No. 3 Ole Miss Rebels, taking two of three at home to inch back up the national rankings. Next up are the Stetson Hatters (19-9, 5-1 ASUN), who return to Gainesville for the second time this season to face their in-state rivals.
The Hatters have been riding a streak of relative success over the past couple of weeks, having won six of their last eight and nine of the last 14 games since their last meeting with the Gators. Most recently, Stetson swept the Jacksonville Dolphins on the road in a three-game series last weekend, giving the team a bit of momentum coming into Tuesday’s game.
Historically, UF holds a commanding 81-34 lead since the two schools first played way back in 1912 when the two schools split a two-game set in DeLand. At one point the Hatters held the upper hand over the Gators — after seven games, SU posted a 4-3 record as of March 15, 1913. That would be the last time Stetson threatened Florida in the all-time series.

UF’s record at home is a robust 45-11 while playing on the road in the series holds a 34-22 edge. Its longest win streak of 12-straight games was set from 1993 to 2000, while its longest losing streak has only been three in a row, which has occurred four times over the years — the last coming in the 1982 season. Florida has won the last six, while holding an 8-2 record over the past 10 games and 14-6 over the past 20.
