While the 2021 basketball recruiting cycle isn’t complete just yet, the Florida Gators are keeping an eye on a few prospects in future classes as well.
One of those prospects is four-star guard Nick Smith out of Arkansas, a recruit that has a total of 18 offers in his recruitment and appears to be taking his time as the months go on. But with recent coaching changes among teams involved with Smith, the recruit has made a small update to his top teams list.
Per Tipton Edits, Smith has replaced Texas Tech with Texas following the decision from Chris Beard to take the Texas job:
2022 Top-25 prospect Nick Smith Jr. tells me he will replace Texas Tech with Texas, due to the coaching staff change.

Smith’s top 11 list now features Texas, Florida, North Carolina, Kansas, Kentucky, Arkansas, Auburn, Ole Miss, Oral Roberts, Georgetown and Baylor.
The recruit is ranked No. 29 overall, No. 2 shooting guard and the No. 1 player in the state of Arkansas per the 247Sports recruiting rankings. Being a 2022 recruit, there is still a long ways to go in his recruitment but he’s a player to keep an eye on for Mike White and his staff.
