The LSU Tigers were listed among programs in the mix for Class of 2022 four-star safety Azareyeh Thomas when he released his top eight schools.
The list included Oklahoma, Miami, Clemson, Florida, Georgia Tech, Alabama, and Louisville in addition to LSU.
The 6-foot-3, 176-pounder out of Niceville High School in Niceville, Florida is listed in the 247Sports composite rankings as the No. 9 athlete in the nation and the No. 95 player overall for the 2022 recruiting class.
The NCAA recruiting dead period currently runs through May 31 — with the hope that it won’t be extended again. If it’s not, uncommitted recruits like Thomas can begin taking visits to programs across the country after it expires.

Thomas has visits set to Florida and Georgia Tech in June, and there are sure to be several more schools added to that list as time goes on.
It’s hard to tell where any recruit is leaning at this point in time with restrictions in place surrounding the pandemic affecting visits and limiting in-person contact in general, but it will be interesting to see if Thomas heads to Baton Rouge to join the Tigers when it comes time for him to reach a decision.
