Everything Ed Orgeron said in his Tuesday press conference

Here’s a look at what Ed Orgeron had to say about LSU football earlier this week.

LSU head coach Ed Orgeron met with the media on Tuesday following the start of the third week of spring practice.

Orgeron has been asked to testify after Gloria Scott shared her side of the story in regards to alleged verbal abuse from former LSU running back Derrius Guice, and he was asked if there were plans for him to do so.

The coach said he wouldn’t be elaborating any further on the statement he gave Tuesday morning in his weekly appearance on Off the Bench.

In regards to practice, Orgeron noted a strong performance from both sides, though he said the defense ultimately had the “upper hand.”

He also said that true freshman Maason Smith was already LSU’s best pass rusher on three inside and gave us the notion that it wouldn’t be surprising to start at defensive tackle this season.

While LSU has notable depth within the defensive line and at key positions like quarterback, the team has seen struggles at running back. Orgeron says he hopes to see things improve in this area moving forward.

Speaking of offense, there is some consideration of having cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. play on both sides of the ball at some point in the future.
