Sixers come in ranked 3rd in ESPN’s latest Power Rankings after deadline

The Philadelphia 76ers come in ranked third in the latest Power Rankings from ESPN.

The Philadelphia 76ers are a team that made a big move at the trade deadline by bringing in George Hill in a deal from the Oklahoma City Thunder. The deal is a move that they believe can be helpful for them in their run towards a championship.

It was a move that also capped off a 2-1 week where they knocked off the Golden State Warriors and the Los Angeles Lakers while falling to the Clippers to finish the week. Tobias Harris had himself a solid week as well he continues to help the Sixers win games without Joel Embiid.

In ESPN’s latest Power Rankings, they have the Sixers coming in ranked third after their performances on the floor and the upgrade they made:

Philly finally lost Saturday against the Clippers in Doc Rivers’ first game back in L.A. against his former team. But the important news came before the game, with Joel Embiid and recently acquired guard George Hill both being cleared for on-court activities. If the Sixers had known they’d still be in first in the East when Embiid came back, they’d have been ecstatic; they still lead Brooklyn by a game and have a chance to do just that if he gets back in the lineup again soon.

The Sixers are currently 6-2 since Embiid went down and it is thanks to the play of Harris stepping up as a leader. Philadelphia will continue their 6-game road trip on Tuesday when they take on the Denver Nuggets at Ball Arena.
