Indiana basketball hires Mike Woodson as their next head coach

A new coach in the Big Ten

Indiana went with one of their own as they brought Mike Woodson back from the NBA ranks to Bloomington as their next head coach. Woodson was a four-year player at Indiana before playing in the NBA and later coaching in the league.

Woodson has never coached in college, but has had success at the NBA level as a head coach of the Atlanta Hawks and New York Knicks. Former Ohio State head coach Thad Matta has been brought in as an associate athletic director for men’s basketball administration to assist Woodson and his staff.
