WATCH: Luke Kornet Celtics debut vs. OKC Thunder with 8 points, 5 rebounds

The Vanderbilt product had a noteworthy debut for the Celtics.

It might not have looked like much of a debut to the stat line watchers, but newly-acquired reserve big man Luke Kornet made his premier appearance for the Boston Celtics in the second half of the team’s 111 – 94 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder Saturday night.

Kornet was a big part of creating the shift in momentum that gave the Celtics the win, nailing back-to-back shots from beyond the arc to give Boston its first lead of the game early in the fourth quarter. In 13 minutes of uninterrupted floortime, the scored 8 points with an emphatic flush added to his treys, pulled down 5 boards, and got an assist with only one turnover and personal foul.

It was a very solid debut overall that had fans scrambling to come up with a nickname for the Vanderbilt product.
