Zion Williamson carried the Pelicans across the finish line on Saturday, scoring 38 points one night after a 39-point outburst on Friday to lead New Orleans to a 112-103 win over Dallas.
Williamson scored or assisted on a string of 12-straight points in the fourth quarter to turn a three-point Pelicans lead into a double-digit advantage, effectively putting the game to bed.
The shorthanded Mavericks were without Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis but saw Tim Hardaway Jr. and Jalen Brunson combine for 54 points to fuel them on the night.
New Orleans led by 15 points in the first half but saw the Mavericks storm back and lead by as many as eight points in the third period. New Orleans eventually regained its footing and, save for a brief stretch in the middle of the final frame, controlled the contest the rest of the way.
Nickeil Alexander-Walker continued his strong stretch as a starter, scoring 20 points in the win. Brandon Ingram had 19 and Kira Lewis Jr. 13.
