Kongo vs. McKinson: Tale of the tape
Chris Kongo
Kongo (12-0, 7 KOs) is coming off an impressive 9th-round knockout over Luther Clay last time out, also on the undercard of a Alexander Povetkin-Dillian Whyte PPV. He has recorded KO/TKO in four of his past seven fights. Now he gets unbeaten McKinson in the Rumble on the Rock, with a chance to secure his spot as one of the premier fighters in the division with a victory. This will be his first professional bout outside of the United Kingdom, although technically Gibraltar is a British Overseas territory.

Michael McKinson
McKinson (19-0, 2 KOs) has wowed the judges with his technical ability, but he’ll likely need a finish against the likes of Kongo, a big step up in competition from what he has been used to. He pushed past Martin Harkin in a unanimous-decision victory Oct. 18, at Production Park Studios in South Kirkby. He hasn’t had a stoppage since a TKO against Colin Lynes Nov. 25, 2017, going the distance in each of his past six bouts.

Kongo vs. McKinson: Odds, predictions and picks
Kongo (-300) is a little too steep on the 3-way line, so we’ll have to get specific. Check out the method of victory section and take KONGO BY KO/TKO/TECHNICAL DECISION OR DQ (+175) for a much better value. He has plenty of knockout ability, and McKinson just doesn’t match up. McKinson will be overwhelmed in this battle in Gibraltar.
In addition, I like to roll with a three-round block in individual round betting. Target KONGO IN ROUND 6 (+1400), KONGO IN ROUND 7 (+1400) and KONGO IN ROUND 8 (+1600). Yes, you will lose two ends, but if Kongo comes through with the victory in either of those rounds, you’ll be well ahead still.
