[autotag]Victor Dias[/autotag] started a new era in the Titan FC flyweight division on Friday when he took the belt from [autotag]Wascar Cruz[/autotag].
Dias (9-2) closed Titan FC 68 on a high note when he overwhelmed Cruz (10-5) on the mat until he secured a rear-naked choke that forced the tap at the 4:07 mark of Round 1, crowning the Brazilian as the new champion.
The event took place at the InterContinental Miami in Florida and streamed on UFC Fight Pass.

Dias came out of the gate strong, looking to apply pressure on the champion. It didn’t take long for him to get the fight to the ground and establish top position, and from there he waited for Cruz to make a mistake.
Cruz eventually gave up his back in attempt to escape the bad position, and that’s when Dias took his back and locked in the submission. Dias tried to hold out as the forearm was under his neck, but he was left with no choice but to give up.
“I’m very happy,” Dias said through an interpreter in his post-fight interview. “I’d like to thank everybody who is here today. I’m very happy to be in a place with so many beautiful, honest people. I’d like to say that Titan now has a really flyweight champion and I’m going to fight hard to show how good of an event Titan is.”
