The Kansas City Chiefs are hard at work scouting players eligible for the upcoming 2021 NFL draft. They’ve been fairly active in the pro-day circuit so far, despite restrictions due to COVID-19. Teams are limited to having a maximum of just three representatives for workouts. That shouldn’t throw a wrench into any plans for Kansas City as they tend to send solo representatives to pro days unless there is a large group of players working out.
Pro days have increased importance this year with the absence of the 2021 NFL Scouting Combine. They feature many of the same measurable drills and on-field workouts that teams would get at the combine, but it’s not quite as thorough. The scouts will still have to sort through the fact and fiction of the various drills. Things like the type of surface that players are running their 40-yard dash on could play a factor in the teams’ evaluation of a player’s workout. Much of the information gathered during pro days will help them come to a final decision on their draft board.
Below you’ll find pro days where we’ve been able to confirm that the Chiefs had a scout in attendance. We’ll keep updating this tracker as we learn more.
