The Seattle Seahawks have now officially signed defensive end Kerry Hyder Jr. to the roster, inking him to a multi-year deal. The move was first reported on Tuesday.
Hyder began his NFL career in 2014 as an undrafted free agent on the Jets practice squad. He then spent time with the Lions and Cowboys before signing with the 49ers last season.
Due to injuries to both Nick Bosa and Dee Ford, Hyder soon found himself in a starting position for 14 of 16 games played last year, amassing an impressive 721 defensive snaps.
He finished his 2020 campaign logging a career-high in sacks (8.5) and tackles (49) as well as 10 tackles for loss and17 quarterback hits.
