Although “Body by Balis” isn’t an instructional video series for you to shed the extra pounds at home, it should be.

Matt Balis has been Notre Dame’s director of football performance, or as everyone else knows it as, strength and conditioning coach, since January of 2017.

Many moves Brian Kelly made after the brutal 4-8 2016 season get discussed whether it’s his run of great defensive coordinators or other assistants who have performed remarkably well.

Then there is Matt Balis, whose job some call perhaps the most important assistant coach on a college football team.

Balis gets a ton of praise and understandably so in recent years.  So what does he do on a daily basis that we may not be aware of?

Hint: yells a lot.

Notre Dame’s advanced media team mic’d up Balis as he recently helped get the football team ready for spring practice.  Here’s the video they put together from that:
