The Big 12 conference is returning to the football field as spring football kicks off.
The Oklahoma Sooners are looking for their seventh-straight Big 12 Championship while the remaining nine teams are looking for the opportunity to finally unseat the Crimson and Cream from their throne. Iowa State came close last season but ultimately Oklahoma was just too much for the Cyclones to handle a second time.
Prior to the 2019 season it was the Baylor Bears who looked to take down OU but fail short much like the Texas Longhorns did in 2018. The Bears will be trotting out a new quarterback this coming season, as will the other half of the Red River Rivalry. Texas will also have a new head coach.
One final look at the 2020 Big 12 Standings:
- Oklahoma 7-2 (Champions)
- Iowa State 8-2 (Runner Up)
- Texas 5-3
- Oklahoma State 6-3
- West Virginia 4-4
- Texas Christian 5-4
- Kansas State 4-5
- Texas Tech 3-6
- Baylor 2-7
- Kansas 0-8
Shifting the focus to the upcoming 2021 season, Sooners Wire looks at the top offensive player returning for each of the conference’s 10 teams.
