Lonzo Ball misses second straight game for Pelicans vs. Lakers on Tuesday

Lonzo Ball missed his second straight game for the Pelicans on Tuesday against the Los Angeles Lakers with a right hip flexor strain.

Lonzo Ball missed his second straight game for the Pelicans on Tuesday against the Los Angeles Lakers. Ball is dealing with a right hip flexor strain suffered at the end of New Orleans’ game against the Blazers. He missed Sunday’s game against the Nuggets with the same injury.

Interestingly, while Ball’s injury is legitimate, it comes at a time when he’s in the middle of trade rumors ahead of Thursday’s trade deadline. Ball is one of the hot names on the market with the Bulls and Nuggets among the latest teams rumored to be interested in him.

By not playing on Tuesday, Ball could have played his final game in New Orleans. The Pelicans will not play again until Friday against the Nuggets at home, one day after the trade deadline passes.

Joining Ball on the sideline on Tuesday is JJ Redick, who remains out with a heel injury. Redick has not played since March 3.
