Kyrie Irving to miss three games due to ‘family matters’

Kyrie Irving will not be with the Nets for their upcoming three-game road trip.

Nets guard Kyrie Irving is set to miss a three-game road trip to due to “family matters,” as ESPN’s Malika Andrews reported. The opponents for the Brooklyn Nets in these games are the Portland Trailblazers, Utah Jazz, and the Detroit Pistons.

Irving has played in 31 of the 43 games played so far this season for Brooklyn. He averages 28.1 PPG, 5.7 APG, and 5.2 RPG. This means the team will have to pick up for his absence on the offensive end – which could lead to more tight contests like the comeback win over the Indiana Pacers last week.

Earlier in the season, Kyrie Irving missed a stretch of games without communicating with the team that he was not going to be able to play. However, this time it’s clear that he and the team are on the same page as they continue moving forward.
