Could Joshua Langford play college basketball somewhere else next year? That is a possibility and considered the “heavy betting favorite.”

Could Joshua Langford play college basketball somewhere else next year? That is apparently a possibility and considered the “heavy betting favorite” from what Tony Paul of The Detroit News is hearing.

Langford announced on Thursday night after the Spartans’ loss to UCLA in their First Four matchup of the NCAA Tournament that he will not play another game for Michigan State. Many — like myself — assumed that meant he was moving on from college basketball and would most likely play professional ball overseas. However, that isn’t necessarily the case.

Paul tweeted on Friday morning that Langford could very well still play college basketball next year but that it’ll be at another school, and he is hearing that is most likely what’ll happen. See his tweet below:

Every Spartan fan by now knows Langford’s story and how this year he was able to come back from missing the majority of the past two seasons due to foot injuries. So the thought of Langford ending his college career somewhere else seems kind of crazy to be honest.

Langford averaged 9.7 points per game this past season to finish second on the team in scoring. He also had 3.6 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game.

Maybe Langford changes his mind — if he has the option — and comes back to Michigan State for one final run next year. He did, of course, plan on leaving after last season but changed his mind so maybe a similar instance will occur again. Either way, this will be something to keep an eye on this off-season.
