The Tennessee Titans added a new long snapper on Wednesday with the signing of longtime Baltimore Raven, Morgan Cox.
Cox, who is native of the state and attended the University of Tennessee, spent 11 seasons with the Ravens, where he went to four Pro Bowls and was named a First-Team All-Pro in 2020.
According to Spotrac, Cox’s deal is a one-year pact worth $1.21 million, with a signing bonus of $137,000 and a 2021 cap hit of $987,000.
The Titans faced issues at the position in 2020, as former long snapper Beau Brinkley struggled after returning from the COVID-19 list, leading to the team parting ways with him.
Tennessee then made a pair of signings to fill the void, bringing in Matt Orzech and Matt Overton, with the latter ultimately taking over the job.
However, clearly Tennessee was looking to go in a different direction, and based on his career accolades, Cox is about as good as Tennessee could have done at the position in free agency.
