Best college football defensive targets left in the transfer portal

Who are the best available college football transfer targets on the defensive side of the ball? We give you some we think are the best.

Last time we decided to highlight the transfer portal we discussed the options on the offensive side of the ball. This week we are going to dive into what the options are on the defensive side.

The transfer portal has been a prominent entity in college football since its inception in 2018 and Ohio State has found a ton of success dipping in when it comes to their offense with recent studs like Justin Fields (Georgia) and Jonah Jackson (Rutgers), but there have been no notable names on the defensive side. The last recognizable defensive transfer to join the Silver Bullets was Anthony Schlegel from Air Force in 2003, but maybe that can in the future.

The Buckeyes seem to be pretty well set with its roster for 2021, but even if they don’t pull anyone out of the transfer portal, it’s still fun to see what chess pieces might move around and land on other teams.

Here are some of the best defensive options still hanging out in the world-famous transfer portal — the gift that keeps on giving in college football.
