The Los Angeles Rams watched two defensive starters agree to contracts with other teams on Monday, the first day of the NFL’s legal tampering period. John Johnson is signing a three-year deal with the Browns, while Samson Ebukam is joining the 49ers on a two-year deal.
Johnson is a major loss for the Rams, while Ebukam was a rotational pass rusher who contributed for the last four seasons. For the league’s No. 1-ranked defense, there will be some big changes coming in Los Angeles, with this potentially being just the start.
After the two moves were reported, various Rams players such as Jalen Ramsey, Cooper Kupp and Sebastian Joseph-Day congratulated Johnson and Ebukam on Twitter.
Browns just got a good 1 @iamjohnthethird 💯🤟🏾
