Darious Williams will almost certainly be wearing a Rams uniform for at least one more season. According to Ian Rapoport, the team is using a first-round tender on Williams, who was a restricted free agent this year.
That means Williams will make $4.766 million for the 2021 season, unless another team signs him to an offer sheet. In the event that a team does, the Rams will have the chance to match. If they choose not to, Los Angeles will receive a first-round pick from the signing team.
Williams enjoyed a breakout season in 2020, picking off four passes and breaking up 14 total in the regular season. He added a pick-six against the Seahawks in the wild-card round, shining as the Rams’ No. 2 cornerback alongside Jalen Ramsey.
Williams joined the Rams after being claimed off waivers from the Ravens back in 2018. This past season was his first opportunity to become a full-time starter and he made the most of that chance by playing at a Pro Bowl level.
