One former University of Tennessee basketball player was in action in the NBA Friday night and he made a significant contribution to help his team extend its winning streak to four games.
Former Volunteer Tobias Harris started and scored 14 points to help Philadelphia topple the Wizards, 127-101, at Capital One Arena in Washington.
Harris, a power forward for the 76ers, also pulled down eight rebounds and dished out three assists for Philadelphia, which is currently perched atop the NBA’s Eastern Conference standings (26-12).
He also had one steal and blocked a shot for the 76ers who took control of the contest from the outset, opening a 32-17 lead in the first quarter.
Harris went 7-for-12 from the floor against the Wizards (14-22). The win was Philadelphia’s fourth consecutive victory.
