Kyoguchi (14-0, 9 KOs) puts his unblemished record on the line, and he is a rather heavy favorite to retain his strap. The lanky 27-year-old stands three-and-a-half inches taller than his counterpart, and he will look to use his 64-inch reach to his advantage.

Kyoguchi has gone the distance in each of his past two fights as the competition has improved, including a UD win over Tetsuya Hisada Oct. 1, 2019, in Osaka last time out to retain his WBA super and Ring light-flyweight straps. This will mark his first-career fight in the United States.

Axel Aragon Vega

Vega, a.k.a. “El Mini”, stands in with a reach of just 58 inches, which is six inches less than his counterpart. He will have a difficult time getting next to Kyoguchi. The 20-year-old Mexican fighter pushed past Saul Juarez last time out Aug. 21, 2020, in Kissimmee, Fla. to scoop up the vacant WBA Fedecentro Light Flyweight title. He hasn’t had a knockout in three fights since taking care of Giovanni Noriega Aug. 24, 2019.

Kyoguchi vs. Vega: Odds, predictions and picks

Kyoguchi (-700) will cost you seven times your potential return on the 3-way line, and that’s just too expensive. Instead, look to method of victory, as well as a block of round betting for better values.

KYOGUCHI BY KO/TKO/TECHNICAL DECISION OR DQ (+100) is even money and a good bet. Vega is a talented fighter, but he isn’t quite ready for prime time just yet. Kyoguchi is easily the more polished pugilist, and he’ll put on a punching display while working to keep Vega at a distance with his overwhelming reach advantage.

Try and do a three-round block in individual round betting. Kyoguchi delivered early knockouts in the first handful of fights in his career, but those were against tomato cans. Vega is a better fighter and will hang around a while. Still, target KYOGUCHI IN ROUND 6 (+1200), KYOGUCHI IN ROUND 7 (+1200) and KYOGUCHI IN ROUND 8 (+1200) for the win.
