The Boston Celtics return to action on Thursday to start the second half of their 2020-21 NBA season against the Brooklyn Nets. Brooklyn will be without a key player while the Celtics will have veteran guard Marcus Smart back in the fold barring any last-minute setbacks, and the Nets will host Boston for looming collision of these two Atlantic Division foes.
The Celtics finished their first half of the season with a four-game winning streak, with starting point guard Kemba Walker rounding into form and star wings Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum looking like they needed the time off. Brooklyn trails the Philadelphia 76ers by a half-game after winning nine of their last 10.
However, the Nets figure to be without a key member of their starting five.
