Florida basketball in the mix for 2023 five-star recruit

The Florida Gators basketball program appears to be in the mix for five-star point guard Robert Dillingham as his recruitment picks up.

While the focus for Mike White and his Florida Gators basketball program remains on the SEC and NCAA Tournaments, recruiting hasn’t taken a back seat.

The Gators are in the mix for several recruits in the 2021 and 2022 classes but lately, White has expanded the reach to the 2023 class. Florida has offered seven total prospects in the 2023 recruiting class, hoping to turn in a good one and build from there. But one player that Florida has yet to offer but has kept in contact with is five-star guard Robert Dillingham.

The North Carolina native is among the top recruits in the 2023 class and is starting to see his recruitment pick up a bit. Just a few days ago, Dillingham caught up with Jamie Shaw of Rivals to break down the latest in his recruitment. In the piece, Dillingham tells Shaw of the schools he’s hearing from:

This early notoriety and all of his success has also caught the attention of college programs across the country.

“I just got UNC. I also got Kansas, Clemson, Florida, Florida State and a bunch of other high majors.” Dillingham said. “I have been talking to a lot of schools recently. Carolina and Kansas are sticking out for really being on me. It’s a lot of schools, really.”

While Florida being listed is good news, the bad news is that he mentioned UNC and Kansas as the two teams standing out the most. If Florida wants to win this recruiting battle, it looks like they are going to have to take down some Blue Bloods to do so.

Dillingham is ranked as a five-star recruit and the No. 11 overall player by 247 Sports. He has a total of 8 offers but has yet to receive one from Florida.
