Philadelphia 76ers star big man Joel Embiid is one of the best players in the league regardless of position. He can score at all three levels, he is one of the elite defenders in the league, and he is a guy who can put his team on his back and carry them to wins.
He is a nightmare to defend as he can do it all and the rest of the league knows it too.
Indiana Pacers All-Star Domantas Sabonis got another realization of that on March 1 when Embiid dropped 24 points on an efficient 10-for-17 shooting in a 130-114 win at home. Sabonis did his best against the big fella, but to no avail.
Sabonis joined Bleacher Report’s Taylor Rooks over the All-Star break and he revealed that Embiid is the toughest player to defend in the league when he was asked:
Which player is the toughest to guard in the NBA? There’s a lot. I’ll go with Joel Embiid. I’ll give it to the big man.

Embiid is squarely in the MVP conversation and he has the Sixers sitting at the top of the East as they head into the second half of the season.
