Report: Nets are interested in acquiring PJ Tucker

The Nets, Heat, Bucks and other contenders are reportedly interested in acquiring PJ Tucker.

PJ Tucker is one of most valuable assets on the market as playoff-bound teams get closer to the trade deadline. Tucker has shown in his time in Houston that he can hold his own against bigger players in the post, step up when his team needs him in the playoffs, and of course step out and knock down the three ball, especially if it’s from the corner.

Contenders know this and that is why they are all interested in trading for the North Carolina native. At the moment those teams are the Brooklyn Nets, Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, Milwaukee Bucks, and the Denver Nuggets.

Via Shams Charania of The Athletic:

“Multiple teams have sensed a deal could develop sooner rather than later for Tucker, but the timing is likely dependent on the Rockets’ asking price. As of now, Houston has sought a young player back in a trade.”

These contenders are in much need of depth at the four or even the five and PJ Tucker can be the answer. All teams must consider that the former Longhorn is only averaging 4.4 points per game, his lowest mark since his rookie season. He’s also shooting a career low from behind the arc at 31%.
