Former Vol Grant Williams was in action in the NBA Thursday night for Boston.
The second-year forward had one of his best outings during the 2020-21 season.
Williams, a two-time Southeastern Conference Player of the Year during his days at Tennessee, came off the bench in Boston’s, 132-125, victory over the Toronto at TD Garden.
The 2019 first-round draft pick played 21 minutes in Boston’s win over the Raptors (17-19).
Williams, who left UT after his junior season, scored 17 points and pulled down four rebounds for the Celtics (19-17).
He went 7-for-9 from the field and made three of his four 3-point attempts.
The NBA is now at its all-star break. The NBA All-Star Game will be played Sunday in Atlanta. Tipoff is slated for 8 p.m. EST.
