Raptors at Celtics: Prediction, point spread, odds, over/under, betting picks

Our prediction and best bet for Thursday’s Raptors-Celtics game.

The Raptors and Celtics close out the first half of the regular season on Thursday night at TD Garden, and if you’re looking to do some last-minute betting research, you’re in luck! We’ll give you the latest point spread, moneyline odds and over-under number, as well as the information you’ll need to make the smartest bet on BetMGM.

The game tips off at 7 p.m. ET and can be seen on NBC Sports Boston and TSN.

Without several star players out due to the NBA’s health and safety protocol, the Raptors were blown out at home by the Detroit Pistons, 129-105 on Wednesday night. They’ll now be on the road for the second half of a back-to-back with a very depleted team – which has made the Celtics considerable favorites.

OG Anunoby, Pascal Siakam and Fred VanVleet are all out for the Raptors on Thursday, while the Celtics will still be without Marcus Smart and Romeo Langford.

The lines, courtesy of BetMGM

  • Point spread: Celtics -8.5
  • Money line: Celtics -375 / Raptors +290
  • Over-under: 220.5

Advice and prediction

The Raptors are simply overmatched here, and on the day after a demoralizing loss to one of the league’s worst teams, I don’t see them faring any better on the road in Boston. The Celtics are on a three-game winning streak and just knocked off the Clippers, and while they’ve had plenty of dud performances this season already, there’s really no excuse for anything less than a double-digit win over Toronto. Take the Celtics -8.5, but avoid the over/under in the event that the Raptors check out for the All-Star break early.

Prediction: Celtics 118, Raptors 101
