Look, anytime a game comes down to the final moments people are going to have complaints about officiating. It’s just bound to happen.
The game is too close and big calls that swing it are going to be made. Even if a call isn’t made, players and fans will still complain about not getting calls down the stretch. You really can’t win as an official.
We saw that perfectly in Wednedsay night’s Jazz vs. 76ers games where Utah lost a nail-biter in overtime. There were several crucial calls that led up to the game even getting into OT that the Jazz felt like they were worked over on.
Both Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert voiced that after the game — and they’ll certainly get fines for it. Mitchell was actually ejected from the game, so of course, he had a bunch to say.
