University of Tennessee soccer player Jaida Thomas has been named Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week for the third time this season.
She was most recently honored Monday when the league announced its weekly soccer awards.
Thomas, a redshirt freshman forward from Irving, Texas, tallied two goals in the Lady Vols’ 3-1 victory over Xavier on Sunday.
She is the first Lady Vol soccer player to be named SEC Freshman of the Week three times in a single season.
Thomas had a hat trick Feb. 28 when Tennessee notched a 6-0 victory over Gardner-Webb. She scored a pair of markers and recorded an assist in the Lady Vols’ 7-0 victory over Appalachian State on Feb. 21.
She has 10 goals for Tennessee (7-4-1) dating back to the fall portion of the campaign.
