Former five-star recruit Ark Gilbert entered the transfer portal after just one season at LSU. Then, on Jan. 31, Gilbert announced his new destination, the University of Florida.
Gilbert tweeted this on Sunday afternoon.
I have decided to decommit from the university of Florida and re-enter the portal. I will not be announcing my final decision until i am enrolled into school and on campus.

Georgia football was rumored to have a good shot at landing Gilbert before he committed to transfer to the Gators. Gilbert was rated as the No. 1 tight end in the country coming out of Marietta, Ga., in the 2020 recruiting class.
Last season Gilbert caught 35 passes for 368 yards and two touchdowns while LSU tried to solidify its starter at quarterback after losing 2020 Heisman winner Joe Burrow to the NFL. His athleticism is impressive and at six-foot-five, 253 pounds, he has the size to be a matchup problem when paired with the right arm.
DawgNation will say that arm is right here in Athens with Georgia quarterback JT Daniels, but the reality is that the Bulldogs are solid at tight end right now.
Darnell ‘Big O’ Washington returns for his sophomore season, last year’s starter John Fitzpatrick will be back as a senior and Georgia signed four-star Brock Bowers as a part of the 2021 recruiting class.
