Sophomore right fielder Jordan Beck powered the Tennessee baseball team to victory Friday night.
Beck went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and one run to lift the No. 15 Volunteers past Indiana State at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.
Beck broke a 1-1 tie in the the bottom of the third inning with his third round-tripper of the season.
In the sixth, Beck, who leads the Vols in homers, singled to drive in Liam Spence with the winning run.
The Vols (6-0) never trailed in the contest as Beck broke two ties with his offensive fireworks.
Tennessee took a 1-0 lead when Jake Rucker scored on a wild pitch.
The Sycamores (1-3) knotted the game, 1-1, when Diego Gines homered in the top of the second.
Beck answered with his solo blast in the third.
Rucker had an RBI single in the fourth to give the Vols a 3-1 advantage.
Indiana State pulled even with a pair of runs in the the fifth before Beck’s game-winning hit in the following frame.
On the mound, Chad Dallas started for UT. He went five innings, surrendering three runs (all earned), nine hits and one walk, while striking out nine.
Sean Hunley (2-0) went four innings. He fanned three Indiana State hitters en route to recording the victory.
