I …. don’t know what I just watched form Auburn’s offense in the first half of this game.
Sure, losing Sharife Cooper, the player who makes everyone around him better, was going to be hard but to see this amount of incompetence and turnovers, I guess the blame is on me. I shouldn’t have expected anything more.
Yeah, the Tigers trail by 22 points at halftime. Here are some thoughts with most of them not being game-related.
- Bruce Pearl got a warning for stepping outside of the coaching box extremely early in the game. These can’t be the same people that were calling the Tigers’ game against Texas A&M when Buzz Williams was basically a sixth defender for the Aggies, right?
- Allen Flanigan running the point? Yeah, that is never a good idea. He has the body control of someone walking out of Sky Bar at 2 a.m.
- How did no one know this Cooper injury was this bad until just before tip-off? Interesting how Auburn kept it secret.
- Hey, LOOK! It is our old friend Rush Propst back in the news again and, if you can sit down for a bit and settle yourself, I would like to tell you that he is under investigation again. GASP! I guess the seventh chance in life will work out for him.
- I muted the television so I don’t have to listen to Jimmy Dykes. It has made the first half actually bearable.
- Personal news: I am spending the entire month of April in Auburn and will be out and about. If you want to grab a drink, just hit me up on Twitter. (Psst…April 11th is reportedly my 40th birthday. I’m looking into that.)
- I really hope Tiger Woods heals quickly because I want him to beat Jack Nicklaus’ record. I just don’t see it happening anymore.
- I hate to bring this up but I will: Is this the last time we see Cooper in an Auburn uniform? I can imagine a scenario where he takes his time to get prepared for the combine and then for the NBA draft. I hope it isn’t the case but you never know. Hopefully he stays for another year.
- Let’s see …. what else, what else, what else…. Oh, speaking of walking boots, I am happy to report that my good buddy David Feemster is out of his and walking around but gingerly. He is expected to drive my golf cart for me sometime in April.
- Let’s just hope that the Tigers don’t totally bail on the second half here and get humiliated.
