Nicolas Claxton is finally good to go.
The Brooklyn Nets announced on Sunday the second-year big man is available to play against the Los Angeles Clippers. Claxton has missed the entirety of the season to this point because of right knee tendinopathy — after previously missing the Disney bubble due to shoulder surgery.
With the Nets needing help defending the paint and protecting the rim, Brooklyn’s second-round pick from the 2019 NBA draft could provide the team with just the help it needs as the group starts to develop some continuity on that end of the floor.
Tyler Johnson, however, has been ruled out against the Clippers on Sunday due to left adductor tightness. Kevin Durant (hamstring), Iman Shumpert (hamstring) Spencer Dinwiddie (ACL surgery) and Reggie Perry (G League) are all unavailable on Sunday, too.
The Nets and Clippers tip off at Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday at 8 p.m.
