A pair of heavyweight contenders will face off in a pivotal main event clash at UFC Fight Night 185.
Wrestling powerhouse [autotag]Curtis Blaydes[/autotag] will look to cement his position as a leading contender in the heavyweight division by defeating noted knockout artist [autotag]Derrick Lewis[/autotag] in the headline bout Saturday night.
Blaydes (14-2 MMA, 9-2 UFC) is riding a four-fight winning streak with victories over Justin Willis, Shamil Abdurakhimov, Junior Dos Santos and Alexander Volkov putting him within an ace of a shot at heavyweight gold.
But he’ll have to run the gauntlet of power-punching fellow contender Lewis (24-7 MMA, 15-5 UFC), who has the most knockouts in UFC heavyweight history – 11 of his victories have come by way of his heavy-handed strikes. The big Texan is on a three-fight winning streak with victories over Blagoy Ivanov, Ilir Latifi and, most recently, Alexei Oleinik.
Ahead of their main event battle, former UFC welterweight title challenger and UFC analyst Dan “The Outlaw” Hardy invites us into “The War Room,” where he takes a deep dive into the matchup and offers his technical pointers ahead of the fight. Check out his pre-fight assessment in the video above.
UFC Fight Night 185 takes place Saturday at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. The card streams on ESPN+.
