There’s really only one team that J.J. Watt should sign with in free agency

This just makes too much sense, right?

J.J. Watt has been a free agent for just under a week but things have already been pretty crazy for the three-time Defensive Player of the Year who shared his feelings about it all in a very short tweet on Wednesday.

Watt has had his younger brother trying to get him to the Steelers.

He’s had former teammate, DeAndre Hopkins, trying to get him to go to Arizona.

Stefon Diggs has said he’d love to see Watt join him in Buffalo.

And the Cleveland Browns, with their available cap space, have been a team to be mentioned as a possible destination for the future Hall of Famer.

But come on, there’s really one on team that he should sign with and it’s not a hard one to figure out – the Green Bay Packers.

Watt, of course, is from Wisconsin, the Packers have the NFL MVP at QB in Aaron Rodgers, and they just played in their second straight NFC Championship Game.

I mean, what else more could Watt want?

Well, he’s going to want money, duh, and the Packers would need to make some moves to clear up some room, but according to ESPN’s Ed Werder, Watt is putting a good QB and good personnel above money in his search for a new home.

Still, though, money should be an issue because football is a very brutal game and nobody should take a big discount just to play on a team that is near their boyhood home.

But this all makes way too much sense for both sides, which means it probably won’t happen, right?

Watt had Packers fans really excited this week when he used the phrase “All gas, no brakes” on an Instagram story of him working out near his home in Wisconsin. That’s a line that Packers coach Matt LaFleur has been known to use, so fans instantly thought there was a not-so-subtle message there.

While playing with his brothers in Pittsburgh would be fun, the Steelers appear to have issues at QB and could struggle next year. Plus, Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs are in the AFC so avoiding them until the Super Bowl would be the best move. Just ask Tom Brady about that.

Watt very much deserves all the attention he’s getting and will get until he signs with a team.

But it just seems like seeing him running out of the tunnel at Lambeau in green and gold would be the perfect next step for one of the best defensive ends to ever play the game who still has a good deal left in the tank.

Now let’s all continue to sit back and wait to see how it all plays out.
