76ers rookie Paul Reed named NBA G League Player of the Week

Reed averaged 24.7 points, 11 rebounds, two steals, 1.7 blocks and one assist with the Blue Coats on 62% shooting from the field.

On Tuesday, Philadelphia 76ers rookie Paul Reed was named the NBA G League Player of the Week for his time on assignment with the Delaware Blue Coats.

Reed, over three games, averaged 24.7 points, 11 rebounds, two steals, 1.7 blocks and one assist with the Blue Coats on 62% shooting from the field. He ranks fourth among all players in scoring, while he is ninth in rebounding and 10th in steals.

The second-round pick has produced a double-double in each game played. Reed kicked off his season with the Blue Coats by producing 20 points and 10 rebounds, and he followed that with 23 points in his second game and 31 points on Sunday.

The Sixers view the G League bubble as a great opportunity for Reed to develop and learn the ins and outs of the NBA game. They believe Reed is a bit raw in his overall skills, but the 21-year-old has demonstrated he can score and rebound with the best of them.
