The Philadelphia 76ers had a whirlwind Monday in Salt Lake City. They were expecting to have big man Joel Embiid in the lineup after he was listed as questionable with back tightness, but then he was a late scratch against the Utah Jazz and he was missed.
The Sixers ended the road trip on a 3-game losing skid as they fell to the Jazz on Monday 134-123. It is unfortunate due to the fact that Ben Simmons stepped up in a huge way by dropping a career-high 42 points with nine rebounds and 12 assists. He had 19 points in the opening quarter as he made a statement early. It just was not enough.
Tobias Harris added 36 points and 10 rebounds, Seth Curry had 11 points, and Dwight Howard added 14 points and 12 rebounds off the bench. Mike Scott had six in place of Embiid in the starting lineup.
