Monday marks the day that the two major national men’s college basketball poll release their latest tallies, which means it is time to update those top-25 rankings. Unfortunately, for Florida Gators fans, there is not much to get excited about this week as their beloved team was once again excluded from the upper echelon of collegiate hoops.
The Ferris Mowers Coaches Poll left UF out of its top 25 as did the AP Poll, though Florida did not go completely unmentioned. In the latter poll, the Gators racked up 17 votes despite its second COVID layoff this season, which has put a serious monkey wrench into its tournament plans. Many still believe that the Orange and Blue will make a March run, but the window of opportunity is quickly closing.
Three fellow Southeastern Conference teams were listed in the AP Poll’s top 25, including Florida’s next opponent the Arkansas Razorbacks, who come in at No. 24. The Alabama Crimson Tide are currently kings of the conference and are ranked eighth while the Tennessee Volunteers have slipped down to No. 19.
Here is a look at the full rankings for men’s college basketball’s Week 13.
