Oklahoma 2022 target Terrance Brooks discusses his recruitment

Sooners Wire spoke with 2022 defensive back Terrance Brooks on his recruitment from the Oklahoma Sooners.

One of the targets for the upcoming 2022 recruiting class is John Paul II’s Terrance Brooks. He is not a player that lacks confidence, which is a trait that you want in a defensive back. As much as the physical tools are an important part of the makeup, they need to have the confidence to shut down an opposing wide receiver on any given night.

Sooners Wire recently spoke with the four-star cornerback about his recruitment process up until this point. “This last season was good, made a lot of plays on the field and dominated,” Brooks replied when asked about the 2020 season. “Even though it was cut short, I started working on my craft on the side a lot getting ready for next season.”

Brooks was offered by the Oklahoma Sooners back in July of 2020. They were among a group of schools that offered the talented defensive back. He stated that he has talked with cornerbacks coach Roy Manning, defensive coordinator Alex Grinch, and head coach Lincoln Riley. Notably, Brooks mentioned Texas, Oklahoma State, and Texas Christian on his list of schools.

We asked Brooks what was the biggest draw to coming to Norman. “The biggest draw to OU is the amount of playing time I’m going to get and the relationship with the coaches.” At this point in time, Brooks stated that his recruitment was still wide open. He will likely narrow down his list of schools around spring break.
